Hawkeye Community College Annual Student Art Show Opens April 10

WATERLOO–Hawkeye Community College will open its annual student art exhibition on Tuesday, April 10, with a reception from 6:00-8:00pm in the Library on Hawkeye’s Main Campus, 1501 East Orange Road, Waterloo. Awards will be announced at 7:00pm that evening.

Juror for the show is Johanna Kramer-Weston, a Cedar Falls artist and educator. Kramer-Weston is a 2001 graduate of Mount Mercy University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and painting. She earned her master’s degree in painting at the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, working as a graphic designer and teaching art history and appreciation classes at Hawkeye. She is currently gallery director and exhibitions manager for Wartburg College and serves as board president of the Friends of the Waterloo Center for the Arts. Kramer-Weston has exhibited work at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, Wartburg College, and UNI’s Rod Library.

The reception, which will also feature honors projects completed by Hawkeye students, is free and open to the public. The exhibition will remain on display in the Library during regular operating hours until May 4, 2018.
